R. Roland Jelinek is a professional electric violist and composer.
R. Roland Jelinek is an electric violist and composer who creates curated immersive listening experiences featuring original works for electric viola with piano and orchestral accompaniments. Drawing on an international performing career, his music explores themes of nature, human interconnection and the wonders of the universe. Enhanced by atmospheric lighting, his performances transform art galleries, museums, wineries, luxury venues, and special events into memorable artistic journeys where music, ambiance, and sonic storytelling converge to inspire reflection, imagination, and connection.
A native of Los Angeles, Mr. Jelinek holds both a Master's and Bachelor's degrees in Viola Performance and and a teaching credential in music education and has enjoyed a distinguished career as a symphony principal violist, composer, and music educator. As violist, he has played with prestigious symphonies around the world, including the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra, Spoleto Opera Italy, numerous free-lance performances and studio recording sessions throughout California, Texas and Florida.
As a composer and producer, he has created over 350 original works across several genres: orchestral, chamber, electronic, electro-acoustic. His music and performances have been featured internationally, in live concerts, on television and radio broadcasts, and at Colleges and Universities. He has been honored by the prestigious International Luigi Russolo Awards in Electro-Acoustic Music Composition in Italy.
